January 14: Our Mission is Nutrition 10:00am-Noon
OUR MISSION IS NUTRITION
Why work so hard to reduce, reuse and recycle when you can learn to make kid-smart decisions about your food, drinks and snacks that are good for you AND your Planet Earth? Why is it important to know where the things we buy came from, how far they traveled to get to us, and what happens to the package when we are through with them? Learn to make healthy snacks your whole family will love (and Planet Earth will appreciate)!
February 18: Everyday Conservation 10:00am-Noon
EVERY DAY CONSERVATION
Learn what a "NIMBY" is, and how to not be one!! “GEHC Young Conservationists” will hike the hills of the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center, discovering signs of wildlife! Share ways you can help protect wildlife and our natural environment, even though you are “just a kid”. Explore ways that young children have made a difference in conservation efforts, and make a plan to make a difference. This program will be conducted entirely outdoors, weather permitting, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
March 10: Backyard Wildlife Habitat 10:00am-Noon
EVERYBODIES BACKYARD
Learn ways to welcome our wild neighbors with a gourmet garden for wildlife, and explore the woods to find “Nature’s Kitchen”! Cross your fingers for good weather! We will plan to stay outside for the whole program, again!
April 14: Gardening for the kids, by the kids 10:00am-Noon
GARDENING FOR THE KIDS, BY THE KIDS
Let’s get dirty! Bring your green thumb and become a "Green Kid Garden "! Even kids can grow flowers and tasty treats! Program will be outdoors, weather permitting.
