Extended Study Programs • 9th – 12th Grade
Programs are offered by semester, rain or shine, as follows: Fall (August-December) or Spring (January-May).

Advanced Placement Biology Labs
Time: 8am-1pm
Group size: Minimum of 16 students; Maximum of 32 students
In this intensive program, students will complete 2-3 labs during their visit. Program time is devoted to lab activity completion.
Lab Choices: Choose any 2-3 of the following College Board labs for students to complete: 1, 2, 4, 5, 11, 12
Water Quality Field Study
Time: 9am-1pm
Group size: Minimum of 16 students; Maximum of 60 students
Students will participate in chemical and biological stream-water monitoring as well as take a guided walking- tour of the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center.
GPS/AKS: This program meets academic standards for the following courses – Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, and Microbiology.
Tour of the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center
Time: 10:30am -12:30pm
Group Size: Minimum 16; Maximum 112
Students will learn how wastewater is cleaned through many fascinating processes as they take a guided walking-tour of this state-of-the-art facility.
*Transportation is needed for your students from GEHC to the Hill Plant.
Museum Tour For All Grade Levels
Students will learn about the history and importance of water resources in Georgia through a guided tour of the Blue Planet Theater, Discover H20, and Water Ways exhibits. An outdoor interpretive walk is included in this program. Traveling exhibits are offered throughout the year and if applicable, will be included in a museum tour.
