Not Just Another Science Class…
Join the GEHC staff as we embark on a new approach to learning more about environmental science. “How”, you might ask? By presenting scientific themes in a clever format such that students recognize the relationships between science, technology, math, engineering, art, and writing. During our-five-week adventure, students will explore one theme each week: Soils, Water, Wildlife, Decomposers, and Cycles. To gain a comprehensive understanding about a topic, participants will follow a rotation cycle each hour among our educators to work on tasks that focus on STEAM skills. STEAM is a cross-curricular approach exploring a specific topic from a science, technology, engineering, arts, and math perspective all in a one 3.5 hour session. Bring a snack and bottled water to enjoy during a scheduled break time. Homework may be assigned to students in preparation for the upcoming weekly theme. This is an exciting way to explore science….join the fun!
