Pre - Kindergarten


Pre-Kindergarten Programs

Groups enrolled in a Georgia Pre-K program or an educational program for 4 year-old children will enjoy active, engaging programs correlated to Georgia Performance Standards and Academic Knowledge and Skills for Pre-Kindergarten. Teachers may select one of the following programs:

    Friends of the Earth
    Young learners are encouraged to explore the environment while participating in a forest walk, games, songs and stories. In this integrated science and language arts-based program students will explore the natural world.

    Who Lives in My Backyard?
    Visual and auditory processing skills are encouraged as the young learner identifies animals that inhabit the woods around the Center. In this integrated science and language arts-based program students are certain to discover animal friends that crawl and fly.

2009-2010 Guidelines
Pre-Kindergarten Programs
September 8 – May 7

  • Minimum group size is 15 students. Group size is limited to 20 students maximum.
  • Reservations are required. Programs are offered Monday-Friday
    9:30am - 10:30am and 11:30am - 12:30pm.
    Please note: late arrival will reduce program time.
  • At the conclusion of the program, group departure time is scheduled within 15 minutes unless prior arrangements have been made with Leslie Morris.
  • Lunch space is available on a reservation-only, first-come, first-served basis.
  • For Pre-Kindergarten Programs, the ratio for chaperones is 1:5. The maximum number of chaperones is 4. The minimum age for chaperones is 18 years old. Chaperones should make other arrangements for younger siblings.

Admission for the Pre-Kindergarten Program
Gwinnett County Student $4.00
Out-of-County Student $5.00

In County Chaperone $7.00
Out-of-County Chaperone $10.00

There is no charge for teachers or staff with a valid school ID.
